Canadian Hydro Components
Canadian Hydro Components (CHC) is a leading manufacturer of high performance, competitively priced hydroelectric turbines for low to medium head sites. For over 30 years, CHC has designed and manufactured superior quality Kaplan, Propeller and Francis turbines for hydro projects in Canada and the United States, with outputs ranging from 500 kW to 25 MW. CHC’s line of axial flow turbines includes runner diameter sizes ranging from 500 mm to 3250 mm, and can be supplied as replacement units or complete water-to-wire equipment packages.
The company’s main manufacturing facility located in Almonte, Ontario (Canada) is a 25,000 sq. ft facility equipped with a range of state-of-the-art CNC machine tools. CHC also owns a new assembly hall located in Arnprior, Ontario, which provides an additional 20,000 sq. ft and 40 tons of overhead lifting capacity (36 ft under the hook). This location is used to pre-assemble and pre-align turbines to ensure proper fitment at work sites and also as a staging hall for owner inspections prior to shipment.
CHC partners with private developers, utilities and the industry’s leading engineering firms, to design and build turbines that consistently exceed expectations when it comes to performance, reliability and profitability.
